Step 1- Read all the comments from the previous assignment.
Step 2- Choose one comment which is thoughtful.
Step 3-
First, paraphrase the comment you are responding to: For example: “Mr. Mohammad Islam thinks that…”
Then, write a question about the chosen comment. The question must be: clear, sincere, useful and be the sort of question which leads to more questions. The question you write must complicate the comment’s argument, make the reader of the comment you are questioning think deeper. Stir up some intellectual trouble.

Ms. Josefina Perez thinks that freedom has to do with you doing what you want even if it is right or wrong. My question to her is what is someone that is a troublemaker sets a bomb or something and it hurts many people. Shouldn’t there be a punishment for that? What if someone is mental and does not know what is right for them? Wouldn’t the world be destroyed if everyone did what he or she wants when they want? There are laws for a reason. To keep you from doing harmful things.
ReplyDeleteMr. Wong believes that freedom is to be able to do things you want in your way without letting other people force you. My question for Mr. Wong is, are you saying that people should ignore authorities or laws and do whatever they want? What if what they want to do is highly illegal? Do you really think that people like that should ignore laws and do it? Laws should be obeyed, and you know it.
ReplyDeleteMs. Yun Mei thinks freedom means no leaders. Yun, should there be no president of the United States or the principal of a school? If we don’t have leaders where necessary there will be chaos. There will also be places which are unsafe. For example, if we don’t have a leader to say we need security, then people can go bomb places. If there was no principal of a school, then the teachers and students can do whatever they want. For example, a teacher could hit a student because they were cursed out by them. That is my question of what freedom means to Ms. Yun Mei.
ReplyDeleteMr. Mahmud believes Franklin D. Roosevelt’s 1934 sentences about freedom. My question to Mr. Mahmud is “How is this definition of freedom work and how can people use it to their advantage.
ReplyDeleteMr. Shor believes freedom is:"...a right which is given to a person by another person." Every one else seems to believe freedom is what they choose in life. So why do you believe freedom in given to you by a person?
ReplyDeleteMs. Perez believes freedom is when you can do what ever you want even if it is wrong. My question for Ms. Perez is, if you had total freedom and you murdered someone, should you go to jail? Murdering someone is one of the worst things you can do and if you think it is ok because you have total freedom, then the world would be corrupt. If everyone in the world had this freedom, there would be no order, no democracy, and lots of people might get hurt. This is my question for Ms. Perez.
ReplyDeleteMs. Shaista Shoukat said that freedom is for the man that thinks differently, but what if you put it the other way around and imagine this. What if the person is thinking of killing someone or going on a car chase with the cops, they will be put in jail for a part of your life and then you will not have enough freedom in the jail so think a bit more about what the statement actually means.

ReplyDeleteMs. Perez believes that the word FREEDOM means that you have all the power, you can do anything you want even if it's wrong and your the boss of yourself and no one els's. I strongly disagree with that statement by her. I believe if you you get to do anything you want, there will be no order and without order everything will go wrong. Even in America, where freedom and orders/law exists, theres a lot of crime and wrong-doing people who brakes laws and I can't think of America with only freedom. My question to you, Ms. perez, is "Do you think the world will work/survive with only freedom? and if you think so, how?
ReplyDeleteMs. Perez says that freedom is that you can do what ever you want even if it is right or wrong. My question to her is what happens if someone does something wrong like not listening to the laws and then get put in jail? That would not be good. Freedom should be to do what you want but under good reason.
ReplyDeleteMr. Stanishevsky says that freedom is a form of speech, and also doing what you wish because your wish is freedom. Freedom of speech can be very powerful in effecting peoples minds and ideas. My question to Mr. Stanishevsky is; how much freedom of speech is to much? Are there times when we are better off without it, when a charismatic speaker could spread bad or dangerous ideas?
ReplyDeleteMs. Josephina Perez says that “you are your own boss.” A land with no bounds, rules or limit to what you can do will become chaos. If you killed somebody for instance, would that would be ok because you are your own boss? If this were true, our nation would be destroyed. S, do you think that a nation can run with no rules?

ReplyDeleteMs. Perez believes, " freedom has to do with what you want even if it's right or wrong... do what you want not what everyone else tells you what to do." My question to her is what if somebody robs, murders or does anything that is illegal, would that be right? Shouldn't they go to jail? If everyone does what he or she wants, there would be chaos. Many people would get hurt.
ReplyDeleteMs.Loyfman thinks that freedom means to do whatever you want with our being told what to do. What if someone wants to kill someone, have slaves or disobey the law, would you just let them?My question to you is that,is this what freedom is to you, to do whatever you want even though its wrong? That would just be chaos.

ReplyDeleteMs. Perez said that freedom has to do with what do you want to do despite if it is right or wrong. my question is that what happens if what u want to do will bring the entire united states to its knees, what happens if the thing you wanted to do is dangerous to those around you to both the ones you love and to the ones you hate?
ReplyDeleteJosefina Perez said that freedom “I believe that freedom has to do with you doing what you want even if it’s right or wrong. You should do what you want not what everyone else tells you what to do. You are your own boss no one else’s.” So you are saying that I have the right to do anything? What if you killed someone you hated. Is that true freedom? Is it!!!!!!!? You said you do what you want even if it is rigth or wrong didn't you? SO do you agree with yourself still?
ReplyDeleteMs.Kaitlin Sullivan thinks that freedom is the right to do, and want to do. Not all people thinks about decent actions. The decent actions, or thinking will be like being a doctor, helping the community, etc. Others thinks about disastrous things such as, setting a bomb, murder, steal, kidnap, etc. As one can see, not everyone knows the appropriate thing to do. Therefore, my question to Ms.Sullivan is ; how will people think and do the right thing without leading themselves into dilemmas?
ReplyDeleteMs. Mei thinks that there should be no leaders or followers and that you should be your own leader. I ask her, What if there was no leader in the world? Then it would be utter chaos. Terrorists wouldn’t hesitate to bomb places. It would be like Somalia. Also, if we should be our own leader, what if a criminal wants to murder a person? And since he was his own leader, the criminal murdered a lady. So my real questions are:
ReplyDeleteWhat if all the countries of the world didn’t have a president, prime- minister, or leader and what would happen if everyone in the world thought they should be their own leader and no one else could tell them what to do?
Ms.Josefina Perez said "that freedom has to do with whatever you want do do whether it's right or wrong".My question to Ms.Josefina Perez is that what if you do something wrong like for an example, what if you murder someone for no apparent reason. What if you murder the person because you don't like that person. Does that give the right for everyone else to murder the person they don't like either. No, then there would be no world because people will just be killing eachother because they don't like them. Do you still agree with what you think is freedom?
ReplyDeleteMr.Noel states that freedom is basicly free will without being forced to do something. My question is that technicly thats not freedom. Say someone tryed to force another into doing something, if you stop to Forcer he does not have freedom to do what he wants, thus making this unfair freedom.
